The windows and doors are now wide open to welcome in the warmer season. Stepping out into sunnier days, it is the time of year to clean out from the dark of winter and replace the darkness with the bright glow of the warmer seasons ahead.
Bring some of the newness that the fresh warm seasons represent, into the abode.
First get down and dirty getting rid of the papers, and stuff accumulated over the winter months. Organize the dressers, file cabinets, and shelves.
Scrub the home clean and air it out.
Now for the fun; bringing new life into the abode. Augment with new accessories to update the furnishings; fresh pillows, slip covers, window treatments, area rugs, and artwork. Paint the walls in some hot new color.
2012 invites some excitement with a plethora of fun fashion trends to enhance the décor with.
Nautical; put on the boat shoes and have fun sailing through the stores.

- Add a dash of a bright color such as fuchsia, or yellow.
- Throw a bit of metallic gold into the mix (silvers are out this year).
- The tropics add a new spin, to the traditional preppy nautical, with floral and palm tree prints.
Retro; dance your way to a mod look
- Bold patterns add new life.
- Color blocking is back; think of the Partridge Family bus.
- Architectural inspired prints add a new dimension.
Global; get the beat going with some ethnic and exotic patterns
- Animal prints are happening.
- African and Indian inspired prints and textures add excitement from across the globe.
- Mix in some beading to add sparkle.
- Splashes of gold and bronze metallic add to the fun.
Neutral; go natural with some simple neutrals blended in
- Soft and natural beiges and nudes soften and add contrast to the bold colors and wild prints.
Buy some plants to add greenery. If you do not have a green thumb there are some very good artificial plants for sale that would be mistaken for real.
Open the windows to the lovely weather. Dress up the abode for the fun days to come. Enjoy and never be afraid to dance!
