Autumn is upon us. The chilly weather is to follow. When stuck inside during the colder days of the year, one has time to ponder the décor. The mind starts to fantasize on how nice everything would look if only…
… If only it was in the budget I could redecorate, I could buy new furnishings, I could paint, etc.
It is time to stop the fantasy and actually accomplish some goals. Small changes in the interior decorations do not have to bust the budget. Make a list of what you want to do with your décor and tackle them one by one with baby steps.
This Interior Design tip suggests how to give new life to your old windows. How long have those drapes been hanging? You can have them cleaned. Take the drapes down completely, or just leave the valance, and add a roman shade or wood blinds for a more tailored look. JCPenney.comhas great sales and deals in their clearance department.

Measure your windows, width and height. Remember if you want to hang a shade or blind inside the frame you must get the exact measurement. Penney’s also has good finds for replacing the drapery and has a lot of ideas for you to browse through.

You can swag a table runner over corner hooks for a window topper. Do not forget accessories. You can add new life to seemingly drab window treatments just by hanging them on a new decorative curtain rod with beautiful finials. Existing treatments can be given a lift by adding some new fringe.

Pondering is good; it means you are using your imagination. Now it is time to take into action your ideas and make it all a reality. With each step you will make longer strides towards your goal. Before long, your entire home will look new and shiny.
