We get easily bored with our surroundings and are always looking for a quick fix. As we peruse all of the design magazines we long to redecorate. Unfortunately economic factors seem to always get in the way.
Refresh your decor with a very easy and simple tip. Swap around your hanging wall art to change the look of your rooms.
You can make an understated new look to your decor simply by rearranging the artwork or exchanging art with other rooms. That painting in your bedroom might look nice hanging in your living room where more people will see it. Instead of a mirror over the fireplace mantel you might want to arrange a grouping of artwork gathered from other rooms.

Take a look at what you have on your walls. Make sure that they are hung correctly. Artwork should not be hung too high. Make sure that they are at least at a standard eye level of between 60 and 66 inches. If a wall looks empty, add a grouping. Odd numbers look better than even numbers so make a grouping of three or five. Take a look at my blog post, “Interior Designer’s Tips for Hanging Art and Accessories”, for more advice.

If you are short on artwork you can make your own. Find pictures out of old coffee table books. Purchase frames and Mattes inexpensively at stores like IKEA and AC Moore. For more wall decor ideas read my article, “Decorating Your Bare Walls”.
Have fun redecorating your walls, never be afraid to dance!
